Project

Parent watch day for Chesney was fun, yet boring at the same time. Chesney (as I think I've said before) is the youngest in her class, so she was the one who did the least. She put her face under water, floated on her back, and used a kickboard to "swim" half the width of the pool- kicking randomly. We were the most proud of her blowing bubbles in the water and putting her face under. I wish she would've learned how to hold her breath. She'll go under, but the water just pours out of her little nose when she resurfaces and you have to remind her to blow it out before she takes her first breath. Oh well. She is only three!

Here's where I am in the pregnancy: Week 18: Baby's limbs are lengthening, and at last, body length is catching up to head size. Bones are still malleable but are beginning to ossify. Your baby's digestive system is starting to produce meconium, its first fecal matter. Your baby has grown to 14 centimeters (5 ½ inches) crown to rump or about the size of a large pickle. Adding two ounces in just one week, your baby tips the scales at seven ounces.

I also decided to take on a project. I joined a forum for mothers due in November 2006 about twelve weeks ago. I get great feedback from them and try to give some out as well. Mothers-to-be write about anything from breastfeeding questions to nursery themes and belly pics to the death of a baby. Now they are trying to set up a Virtual Baby Shower. Basically, you get a Secert Pal who will give you a gift in the month of September. No one wanted to take on the responsiblity of keeping track of everything, so after a week and a half of waiting, I decided to volunteer for the job. If choosen, I will have to keep track of about 30-40 mothers' addresses, the sex of their babies, the theme for their nurseries, something they want, and things they definitely don't need. I then have to assign a pal to every mother and give them all the rules about when to send out gifts and how much to spend. It should be quite a job, but I think I can handle it. Wish me luck if I'm choosen!

Good luck with the project. It sounds like a lot of stress though. I feel like I haven't seen you in a while. Is your belly growing too?

First - yuck "fecal"... Second, in you answer to your Uncle Tee's posting about the personality test - you said you weren't social - what gives...? Finally, motherhood definitely fits you...

OMG...you are your mother. She would have totally volunteered for the same job. My advice, put it on an Excel spreadsheet...much easier to keep track of. Good luck.
