Taken for Granted

As I enter my last month of pregnancy, I realize more and more that I take many things for granted. Mostly, my hygiene.

I really never thought that shaving legs and clipping toe nails would be huge difficulties in my pregnancy. I knew that sleep would be difficult and aches and cramps would be common. I braced myself for soreness and stretch marks. But who knew I would have to rely on my husband for shaving, clippings, and tying my shoes? Crocs have been my best friend, but now that the temp is dropping, I don't know if I can go without socks too much longer.

I no longer care too much about personal appearance. My hair goes into a wet ponytail every day. I wear teal Crocs with every outfit. I don't wash my face. I don't put on makeup. At least I used to wear mascara and lip gloss! My clothes don't match consistantly either.

I guess pregnancy takes it out of you. It's not until I saw Kristy post-baby and dressed up for an engagement dinner that I realized how crappy I look. Her hair was cut, colored, and straight. Her makeup looked awesome. And she wore the cutest sweater and button up shirt. I forgot what layering for looks was like. She looked great! It really made me want to have the energy to make myself look nice. I forgot that I stopped trying.

Anyway, poor Cory has to take over where I cannot. Not only cleaning the house, but keeping me trim as well. I won't take shaving my legs for granted for a while after I am able to again.

Less than a month from now and you can get back into the swing of things...you have a life living off of you. You should expect to not be fully functional :) When is the unveiling of the name?

G.U.T.-

I guess his name will be reveled once he is born. We still don't know ourselves although we plan on talking about it seriously sometime after Halloween. My friend Ashlee tells me that we still have 30 days AFTER the birth too... hmm.

Kristy-

You made me WANT to try, so thanks for that. Yeah, the winter non-shave IS approaching, but I don't want to be hairy for my appointments or the birth. And about "bikini season"... I don't think I know what that is anymore!

I remember when you and Kristy visited me in Dallas, back in the day, and the two of you were perched by Darrel and Jay's pool sucking down the cocktails...looking all sleek in your bikinis...it's okay, you're mom's now...now you'll be able to worry about your daughters in their bikinis :)
