Yea!!!

I felt movement from my baby today!

I now believe that it was the second time. Two nights ago while reading in bed, I thought I felt something but dismissed it as stomach gurgling. Today while sitting at my computer working, I KNOW I felt it. It was like a little nudge on my right side. Just wanted you to know how excited it made me.

Appt.

For those of you who have been asking, my next appointment is Wednesday, May 24 in the afternoon. It will be with my new doctor, Dr. Hardey. Because my regular doctor doesn't deliver anymore, he only saw me for the first 12 weeks. I am now in my second trimester, so onto a new doctor. I only hear exellent things about him, so I feel pretty comfortable. I'll be in my 14th week at that time and the baby will be about 5" long. I don't think he'll plan an ultrasound for that week, so I should find out the gender of the baby at my next appointment. Thanks for all of the prayers and well-wishers!

Mini Vaction Part 2

Sorry I didn't get to writing earlier...

Friday afternoon, Chesney and I packed our bags and headed to Kenner. After a bout of rain on the basin bridge, the weather cleared and it was an easy trip. We got to Kenner about half an hour before Kristy got home, so Chesney and I headed to the Disney store in the Esplanade Mall. She got some sunglasses, flip-flops, and a tee shirt. When we got to Kristy's apartment, she was waiting for us. We unloaded the car then headed to JazzFest. The parking was unreal and there were NO JazzFest signs anywhere. We ended up paying $20 for a really good parking place close to the gate. Meandering our way through the crowd, we found a spot for 2 chairs about 60-70 yards away from the stage. Good thing there was a big screen to watch! It was a little muddy, but Chesney didn't seem to mind. She danced practically the entire time. After the show was over, we headed over to Wayne's restaurant, Cerrano's to try to get a bite to eat. But since it was Cinqo de Mayo and Cerran's is a Mexican restaurant, there was a 2 1/2 hour wait and even Wayne couldn't get us in. So we headed over to Semolina's. Seeing so many FEMA trailers still in people's yards was a little shocking, but I hadn't realized the restaurants were so affected. Semolina's went from a 4 page menu to a 1 page menu. The food was still good though.

On Saturday, Kristy had to work all day, so Chesney and I went to the Audubon Zoo. She wanted to wear her new Minnie Mouse flip-flops, so I consented. After walking around for 10 minutes she began complaining that her feet hurt, so we walked back to the front and rented a stroller. The zoo looked pretty nice for having been through a hurricane less than a year ago. Some of the cages were still closed or under construction, but not most of them. We stopped for the elephant show and Chesney got to pet one of the elephants afterwards. She was so excited. Toward the end of the trail, we found a rock waterfall and lots of kids in bathing suits and underwear playing in it. Since Chesney had on shorts, I told her that she could go stand in it for a little while. Well, she had so much fun I couldn't take her out when she started splashing around. She ended up dry from the shoulders up! While brushing off her feet, I noticed a popped blister on her first toe. Poor baby. Her feet really had been hurting! After the zoo, we took a nap. Jimmy Buffet began at 5:30, but I didn't feel comfortable taking Chesney out to the packed Fest by myself, so we headed to the Old Navy store. Not long after we got home, Kristy got home too. We visited for a little while then headed up to bed.

On Sunday, Kristy worked again and had plans at night with some friends. By that time Chesney and I were both ready to come back home anyway so around 9:30 we packed up and drove home.

Our trip didn't turn out exactly as planned, but we got to get away for a while, do something different, and visit with Kristy and Wayne, so that was nice. Now I'm looking forward to my next vacation in 2 1/2 weeks to Oklahoma City!

BTW, I heard that Mike and Misty became engaged over the weekend. Congrats Mike! We can't wait to meet Misty!

Mini Vacation

This weekend is the weekend before Finals. Cory will be studying all weekend (or so he says), so Chesney and I will be taking a mini vaction together. We are going to visit Aunt Kristy in New Orleans. We're leaving early Friday afternoon and we will be going to JazzFest at 5:30 to see Keith Urban. (His song "Your Everything" was our wedding song.)

On Saturday, Kristy has to work, so Chesney and I plan on going to the zoo, napping, and heading back to JazzFest to see Jimmy Buffet.

On Sunday, we will probably go to the mall to visit the Disney store. Then at 3:00 we'll head once again to JazzFest to see Paul Simon and Lionel Richie. I think we'll have tons of fun.

Since JazzFest ends by 7:00pm, we shouldn't have a problem catching up on sleep either! Wish us good luck with traffic and rain!
