Update

Hey! Since I stopped working, I don't really get on the computer anymore (shouldn't it be the opposite?!), so I have not been keeping up with my blog or others' blogs. Or email ;-)

So, it is Wednesday (4 days past my due date) and I am once again at home just waiting. Mom is coming over shortly to help me clean the kitchen since it is still something that needs to be cleaned. The rest of the house looks pretty decent. Cory cleaned for 4 days and got things up to speed then I have been going through boxes and cabinets and drawers since he went back to work. He started a new job at Enterprise rent-a-car two Mondays ago and it seems to be working out for him. (Fingers crossed.)

As for me and the baby...
I went in to the hospital last Thursday for softening. (I'll try not to be to technical or gross.) Anyway, after two tries, the procedure didn't work. I elected to go home on Friday and go in for an appointment on Monday. I went in for another appointment on Monday and my blood pressure was up again. 150/102. Dr. Hardey sent me back to the hospital for more observation. After 3 hours there, they determined that I still had +2 protein in my urine (a sign of pre-eclampsia or toxemia) but that my blood pressure was fine. It got down to 118/68. So, I was told that I do not have pre-eclampsia anymore, but I had to do a 24-hour urine analysis (which came back fine.)

Now, the next step is waiting until Friday and going back to the hospital for more baby monitoring and a bp check again. If everything is fine again and I still have not dilated or started having contractions, I will go back to the hospital again on Sunday night for another round of softening and I think Dr. Hardey will start an induction with Pitocin on Monday. If I don't dilate on my own or with the meds, he will have to do a C-section on Monday or Tuesday.

That's it for now. Later!
