Massage

Happy Valentine's Day!

Cory and I celebrated V-day last weekend. It was a surprise for me. He took me to a spa for a couples massage. It was very romantic - there were champagne and roses and chocolate covered strawberries. Yum!

The massage was semi-uncomfortable. I guess I can't take any pressure in my back. I moaned in pain for about half of it and I was sore the next day! They say that the more you do it, the better it feels.. kind of like exercise... but why subject yourself to the pain over and over in hopes that it improves?!?

I did enjoy myself and it was a great get-away, I was just wondering if anyone else felt the pain of a relaxing massage. Maybe I'll try hot stone massage next time...

Funny Faces

Here are some pictures of our Maddox at 8 weeks old. Kim, Mom, Dad and I were headed to the mall for some shopping and Maddox came along for entertainment.

He is FULL of personality. Wonder where he gets that... I love when he raises his right eyebrow when I make a cooing noise!

Nasty Food MEME

As taken from G.U.T.'s blog...

1.Your oddest craving?
Extra sour cream on everything from Taco Bell

2. The forbidden food?
Cupcake Icing

3. A dish that makes you queasy?
Meatloaf

4. Your least favorite vegetable?
Yams

5. Your worst cooking disaster?
In 7th grade, I cooked mac & cheese with a friend, Allison, at her house. We added way too much milk because we didn't measure correctly. It dissolved all the cheese, so we added 5 pieces of sliced cheese. Didn't work out so well.

6. A Cooking exercise you don’t do well?
Cory and Subway do most of the cooking...

7. Food that arouses the most suspicion?
Easter Peeps – couldn't think of anything better than that answer!

8. A drink you used to drink but no more?
Breast milk!

9. Least favorite fast food chain?
McDonalds

10. When in doubt, eat….
Special K and skim milk or a Gala apple

11. A restaurant faux pas that would get you to speak up?
Dirty utensils. I have commented several times about this.

12. Is there something spoiled in the fridge right now?
I'm pretty sure there are things past their expiration date.

13. Food you can’t buy as your spouse/partner won’t allow it in the house
N/A

14. Food your spouse/partner likes that you don’t like
Pork chops, meatloaf, rice & gravy, crawfish ettoufee - pretty much any "home cooking"

15. Your least favorite type of cuisine?
Seafood

16. A food you hated as a child but now love?
Sugar-less cereal and zucchini. I loved broccoli, green beans, and beets as a child and still do!

Goals 2007

Last year in February, I wrote out some goals. Now it is time for an evaluation.

Last years goals were:
Keep up my blog
Get to 138 pounds
Take a Yoga class
Plant a small garden with blooming flowers
Read 30 books

Evaluation:
I kept up my blog until taking maternity leave. So I'll give myself a check for that one.
I got pregnant and GAINED weight, so I'll leave that one blank and put it on this year's list.
I did not take a Yoga class. Minus 1.
I planted two small gardens with blooming plants. Check.
I read more than 30 books. Check.

Not too bad.

Goals for 2007:
Get to 143 pounds (not quite so far to go)
Coach Chesney's soccer team
Really plan for buying a new house
Become more spiritually focused
Keep up Serious Tuesdays and Fun Night

Since the birth of Maddox, I've lost 37 pounds. (I gained 47 for the pregnancy.) I want to lose the remaining 10 pounds plus the other weight to get to 143. That should put me at my intended weight in October. I think it's do-able. Just in time for me to think about getting pregnant again!

Chesney is eligable to play soccer this fall. I really want to coach her team. I hope I am willing to sacrifice the time when it comes. It shouldn't be a problem.

Cory's goal is to be in a new house by the time Chesney starts Kindergarten (Aug 2008). That is 18 months away. With only about $300 saved (since medical bills), I don't think we're on the right path. Time shall tell.

I taught CCD classes last year and we pray before every meal, but I want to improve myself in this area. Mostly for more inner peace.

The Serious Tuesday and Fun Night are for Cory and I to work on. I won't say anymore about it for now.

Wish me luck!
